- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
- 1 can (10 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)

- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 package (32 oz) frozen tater tots
- 1/2 cup cooked turkey ham, diced (optional for added flavor)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray or butter.
- Make the creamy filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, ranch seasoning mix, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Stir until everything is smooth and evenly mixed.
- Add cheese: Stir in 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. If using, fold in the diced turkey ham for a bit of smoky flavor.
- Assemble the casserole: Spread the chicken mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer over the top.
- Top it off: Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of cheddar cheese over the tater tots.
- Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and the edges are bubbling.
- Cool and serve: Let the dish rest for 5–10 minutes before serving. This helps everything set and makes for easier scooping.
