Description
Delicious and healthy mint chocolate chip protein balls for a quick snack or post-workout treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup almond butter
- 1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
- 1 teaspoon mint extract
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup protein powder (vanilla or chocolate-flavored)
- 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
- Chia seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare your workspace: Start by gathering all your ingredients and a mixing bowl. It helps to have your workspace organized!
- Mix the wet ingredients: In a large bowl, combine 1 cup of almond butter, 1/4 cup of maple syrup (or honey), and 1 teaspoon of mint extract. Stir until smooth and well combined.
- Add the dry ingredients: To the wet mixture, add 1 cup of rolled oats, 1/2 cup of protein powder, and 1/4 cup of mini chocolate chips. If you’re using chia seeds, toss those in now too.
- Combine: Mix everything together until well incorporated. If the mixture feels too dry, add a splash of water or more sweetener until it’s sticky enough to hold together.
- Form the balls: With clean hands, scoop out about a tablespoon of the mixture and roll it into a ball. Place each ball on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Chill: Once you’ve rolled all the mixture into balls, place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. This helps them firm up and makes them easier to eat.
- Enjoy: After chilling, your Mint Chocolate Chip Protein Balls are ready to enjoy! You can have them as a quick snack or post-workout treat.
Notes
- This recipe is flexible; you can substitute almond butter with any nut butter you prefer.
