Description

Delicious chocolate cherry bars that are soft in the center and have a delightful combination of chocolate and cherry flavors.


Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup dried cherries (chopped if desired)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture while stirring gently to avoid overmixing.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips and dried cherries until evenly distributed.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared dish and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes until edges are golden but center remains soft.
  6. Allow cooling completely before slicing into squares.
