Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup dulce de leche
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 4 large eggs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round pans.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter until fluffy. Gradually add sugar until pale and airy.
  4. Mix in the eggs one at a time along with vanilla extract.
  5. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks. Once cooled, layer with dulce de leche and frost as desired.
