Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (sifted)
  • 4 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a saucepan, bring water and butter to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Add sifted flour all at once, stirring vigorously until a smooth ball forms.
  4. Remove from heat; let cool slightly before adding eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in vanilla extract and ground nutmeg for flavor.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of batter onto parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing them two inches apart.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and puffed up.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar while still warm.
