Description

A delicious seared round steak served with a rich onion gravy.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs round steak
  • 2 medium onions, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for searing)

Instructions

  1. Slice onions and mince garlic.
  2. Season both sides of the round steak with salt and pepper.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the round steak for about 4 minutes on each side until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté sliced onions and garlic until translucent, about 6 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle flour over the onions and garlic, stirring constantly for about 2 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Gradually whisk in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
  7. Return the seared steak to the skillet, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1 hour until tender.
  8. Serve hot with gravy drizzled over the steak.
