Description

Delicious marinated steak served over fluffy rice with a spicy cream sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound steak (Tender cuts like flank or sirloin)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (Use gluten-free tamari for a gluten-free dish)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (Honey can be used as an alternative)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic (Freshly minced)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger (Freshly minced)
  • 2 cups rice (Jasmine or white rice, brown rice is a healthier option)
  • 2 scallions (Green onions, Chives can be substituted or omitted)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha (Adjust according to spice tolerance)
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Steak: Whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger in a bowl. Coat the steak thoroughly and refrigerate for at least 15-30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  2. Cook the Rice: Prepare the rice according to package instructions, about 15-20 minutes. Fluff with a fork once done.
  3. Cook the Steak: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated steak for 4-5 minutes on each side until medium-rare. Let it rest before slicing.
  4. Make the Spicy Cream Sauce: Combine mayonnaise, sriracha, and lime juice in a small bowl. Mix well and adjust sriracha as desired.
  5. Assemble the Bowls: Place a scoop of rice in each bowl. Top with sliced steak, drizzle with spicy cream sauce, and garnish with chopped green onions.
  6. Serve Immediately: Enjoy warm to savor the mix of textures and flavors.
