Description

A delicious chicken Alfredo dish served on crispy toasted French bread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large French bread loaf, sliced in half lengthwise
  • 2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded or diced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (plus more for garnish)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes for a kick

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
  2. Slice the French bread loaf in half horizontally, creating two long halves. Place cut side up on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Brush both halves with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and toast in the oven for 6-7 minutes, until the surface just begins to crisp.
  4. While the bread toasts, melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  5. Pour in heavy cream, stirring continuously. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  6. Add Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
  7. Season with salt, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Turn off the heat and stir in chopped parsley.
  8. Spread the Alfredo sauce evenly over each toasted bread half.
  9. Top with cooked chicken, spreading it out to cover the sauce.
  10. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over both halves.
  11. Return to the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until cheese is bubbling and golden brown.
  12. Remove from oven, let cool for a few minutes, then garnish with extra parsley.
  13. Slice, serve warm, and enjoy!
